Coltan and cassiterite are valuable minerals that allow to build the hardware in our electronic devices. Exploitation of these minerals is at the center of war conflicts in the Democratic Republic of Congo that produce millions of victims and refugees. Illegal mining uses child labor and destroys many species natural habitats, such as chimpanzees and gorillas.

The Parques Reunidos Foundation, through all the parks, has supported a project led by Jane Goodall España which picks up and recycles mobile phones. The objective is to recycle the mentioned metals and reducing the need to extract them from natural deposits.

So far, our parks have been able to collect more than 514 phones.
