Doctor Mascot Returns for Christmas

PARQUES REUNIDOS SPIRIT

Childhood and family welfare are a fundamental part of the Parques Reunidos Spirit. Children are our greatest fans and their enthusiasm drives the work we do every day. For this reason we consider “Childhood & Health” as one of the main focus areas within the Parques Reunidos Spirit, bringing together the programs that support family welfare and, more specifically, children’s health.

In the upcoming blog entries, we will showcase the other pillars on which the Parques Reunidos Spirit stands today: Social Inclusion, Education, and Biodiversity.

WE MAKE FUN ACCESSIBLE TO THE CHILDREN WHO NEED IT THE MOST

Parques Reunidos collaborates with organizations and institutions involved in promoting family welfare and illness treatments, especially when it comes to supporting children with serious illnesses and their families through a fun and distracting experience at one of our parks. Through collaborations with different foundations and associations, our parks participate directly in the effort to make these visits possible by inviting groups and families affected by serious illnesses.

DOCTOR MASCOT AT MADRID HOSPITALS

Through the Doctor Mascot programs, some of the most famous characters from our parks visit hospitalized children at the pedriatic divisions in the hospitals we collaborate with. With this activity, hospitalized children are surprised by a visit from the Looney Tunes characters like Tweety, Bugs Bunny, Lola Bunny, Daffy Duck or Sylverter, as well as League of Justice superheroes such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash or The Green Lantern.

Doctor Mascot visits hospitals in Madrid during Christmas and in response to requests for specific dates. These are exciting, family-centered holidays, during which it is crucial for children not to feel left out for being at the hospital. Our collaboration with the hospital staff during our Doctor Mascot visits creates a festive environment that includes presents and parties to celebrate de Holidays.

Leading up to 2019 Christmas celebrations, Batman, Superman, The Flash, The Green Lantern, Sylvester, Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny and Lola Bunny visited the Gregorio Marañón, Ramón y Cajal and Niño Jesús (Casa Ronald McDonald) hospitals in Madrid, as well as the Hospital del Sureste in Arganda del Rey. All children, as well as their parents and the medical staff at these hopsitals welcomed their favorite characters with awe and smiles on their faces and had the chance to take some pictures together and have a enjoy of fun.
